Well, I think it may be just about the same weight (those Drums are pretty Heavvvy!), But the stopping power will a great improvement!! What do you think??

I'm sure it will stop better. The weight question was just curiosity is all. This looks like another project to work for towards winter.

how big a gottahavit is this? most of the stopping power is up front. for those of us that don't tow much there is pretty low cost benefit. i'm not down on doing it, mind you. i'd love to... . it's just splainin' it to lucy!! espcecially when there are other gottahavits on the list before the rear disks like gauges, DTT stuff, power edge etc.

Do you have any test data - ie before/after stopping distances with & without load/trailer? I'm particularly interested in the improvement with a trailer attached since unloaded the rear brakes aren't doing all that much.....

Anti Lock on Rear Disc

No, Our Rear Disc Conversion Kit does not a provision for Antilock. But the Kit does include a Knob adjustable Proportioning Valve to adjust rear Bais based on your Load or driving requirements.



I stand corrected by the engineer, the anti lock is still intact and functions as designed. The existing proportion would probably restrict the rear pressue too much and may need to be bypassed. then tested again and an adjustable Prop. Valve can used to dial the pressure as required for load or conditions etc. I hope this helps to answers your question(S)

A disc retrofit will be at least eighty pounds lighter.

I'll be converting my truck over the next week. My concern is the ability to use a 15" wheel with the new brake system. I don't have enough tire and wheel choices with the 16's.
