Thought some of you might be interested in the trailer here this morning. A new delivery for a major retailer.
Technology from front to rear.
The trailer's Thermo King Spectrum refrigeration unit can be started from a dispatcher's desk, for example it can be started out in the yard 3 hours prior to loading so that the compartments can be pre-cooled. Status, fuel level, settings, etc. can all be controlled and monitored from a remote PC.
Three compartments, can carry frozen, refrigerated, dry goods or any combination of the three. Bulkheads store up against the ceiling until needed to create the compartments. Double evaporators in the center with a single evaporator in the third position.
Pretty frigin' cool IMHO... .
You can see the fold down bulkheads stored against the roof. Covers are off the twin evaps as Brian is servicing them. Guards on floor go over the evaps when assembled to protect from forklift damage.
Duplicate controls at rear of trailer so that the loaders can set the temps for the three compartments as it is loaded. They don't have to leave the dock and go way around to the outside in order to get to the front of the trailer to set it on the unit itself. Very smart!!!
A better shot of the the third evap unit.
Shot of the remote fuel level transmitter...
Satellite antenna. .
