Fleece just recently came out with their "Sure Flow Sending Unit" for the Dodge trucks and are soon to come out with others for the Duramax and PowerStroke platforms. Here is a product review by ThoroughBred Diesel. The unit offers full aftermarket liftpump integration with the mass flow return to the bucket, one way valves, factory return ports and fittings with extra fittings and clips for custom fuel systems. They offer this for a variety of years on the Cummins platform.
Looks to be a really well thought out unit addressing alot of the issues people like myself have run into with aftermarket lift pumps. I've got an S&B 10-1021 Midship 52G tank on my 03 and I've had alot of issues with it most notably the slosh. On my 1100 mi trip down to Texas my fuel chime was screaming on and off near the quarter tank level with every curve, bend and rise of the road. For the price I paid for a larger tank I could've paid a fabricator to make a custom tank using a class 8s. I sent out an email to S&B tanks asking about the fitment of Fleece's new sending unit on their tank. Here is an excerpt, I'm awaiting a response given its not a business day. For context I was one of the first to preorder the 10-1021 tank and use it on an early 03 04 truck. In S&Bs R&D they didn't use an early 03/04 truck and thus I found out and reported alot of the issues with it first hand. At that time there was no web page with a features list for the Cummins platform letting me know what I'd be getting into, nor did the current web page listing for that tank linked above say 05-09, it previously said 03 and up trucks (up to 4th gens IIRC).
"My question is, will this sending unit fit your 10-1021 tank? Its advertised to be an OEM fit drop in sending unit fully compatible with aftermarket lift pump systems relative to Fass and AirDog for the 05 - 09 trucks. My truck being an 03 CCSB shared many of the second generation Dodge 3/4 and 1 ton systems and components. I.e. My truck shares the same sending unit dimensions as a second generation truck and did not fit your tank though the 10-1021 claims to be OE sending unit compatible. In our many emails back and forth during my installation issues, I was told that I would have to source a later model year sending unit at my own cost, and I did to make it work.
Have you been in contact about Fleece and their new sending unit offering? If you in fact changed the model year application of your 10-1021 tank to avoid the very issues I ran into during my multiple installation attempts even after your R&D you're missing a decent portion of the market, a partnership between S&B Tanks and Fleece offering a tank and sending unit kit would be really nice seeing as they have done enough R&D to offer both an 03/04 sending unit with the older dimensions an 05-09 unit for the updated ones.
Additionally your Fuel tanks page still says 03-21 model year application for the short bed configuration Cummins trucks."
