SC Flashpaq upgrade Question on 06' CTD

How many on here have had to have a new short block put in? There are now 2 that I know of w/ supposed injector problems. Both sat at the dealer for a week and when they went to pick them up, same troubles. Both trucks got a new short block.
 
last week my dealer put a new engine in an 06 that burnt a piston on #6 w/ 12k on it,,, and today theyre putting a new long block in a 04 that dropped a valve on # 5 and chewed everything up.
 
That's really not good. I don't remember too many people having to put new engine's in the older 24 valves and less on the 12 valves. They said it was #1 and 3 on my dad's truck and my buddies it was #6.
 
dodge put a engine (short block) in my 01 24v when the block cracked,, good old 53. plus 3 inj. pumps and 4 lift pumps not to mention other things,,, i'd take my 3rd gen anyday over a 2nd.
 
well we've had all 3 in our family, and given the chance, I'd go back w/ the '93 12 valve. We've also had several VP-44's and lift pump problems. But never a new motor. I just didn't know how common this occurance was.

what did dealer say they had a chip and would not cover it
 
No, the dealer here is awsome. They replaced the injectors first, thinking that was the problems. It was blowing a WHOLE lot of black smoke w/out a chip, like more than my '04 would w/ the TST on 6/5. When that didn't fix the problem, they called my dad a couple days later, said they were replacing the motor.
