6.7, Holset HE351VGT turbo

ARP stud install ?? on an 02.

this kit comes complete from wally at FTE diesel. I think his website is down right now. here are pics the adapter he makes can make any combo you want this one is to accept 6" stack with 5" bottom adapter comes with 90 elbow flex hose and all clamps and accu seal clamps then Im running it to my 4" down pipe. more this plate mounts to the bed floor not needing to mount the bed rails. adapter and pipe came powder coated and 42" long for the stack so you can cut if needed. post more when put on waiting on my hole saw from my neighbor:mad:

Installed

took about 2 1/2 hours 2 blades on hole saw and sheet metal hex screw and bolts and washers. the truck is nicer to drive now. its a deeper tone to it but not the loud echo bouncing off of objects or walls when driving by them like the old exhaust.

yep I could of gotten it closer but I have driven in trucks with it closer and to me there is alot of the sound in cab plus under neath the truck the stock hanger bolted to the frame would need moved or notched out to get it closer to the cab. you can see the hanger in my pic. with this hanger I can still use and plan on doing one hanger to the 90 elbow.

Dumb question - what do you do about getting water in there?

I can't see a problem with the engine running, but do you have to throw a bucket over it when you park it?

Dont know yet I know I can drill a drain hole after the 90 elbow to get park of it. I dont like the looks of the ugly outside hinged flaps there is a someone that makes a billet internal flap only for miter cuts but its $ for a 6" pipe. so for now the truck gets a hole and a bucket:-laf

well still loving it. but my first rain storm and my truck has a nice black speckled look on the white as well as the others at work next to me:-laf. so I dont know about a rain cap yet havent found one that is not ugly as hell. so a drain hole on the 90 elbow is all that I can do. I guess this is what you get when you do a stack. but still loving the ***** out of it.

anyone know of a good rain cap that doesnt look fugly. I know they make them for miter cuts looking for ones without the ugly big hinge look

rain cap

anyone using this cap. if so how do you like it. does it work. internal weighted hinged. it atleast has the shiny cool factor

JVolpe,

My Iowa 80 rain cap will not close. Do I have to break off that tab?

Never mind: I'm an idiot :)

Thanks Andy. I knew it was correct.

BTW: I took it off to see if there was any more exhaust noise. I think the cap muffles the low speed take-off by 20%-30%. Idle too. It went right back on.

Hey Bill... ... .

"Just say NO To Stacks!"... ... LMAO!

Stacks=Icky,Messy,Nasty Black Crapola on the truck everytime it rains,no matter if you have a cap or not... It would not look very nice on my shiny Red Paint... ... Andy

P. S. -I have some new wallpaper to send you and as soon as I get them all sorted I will get them off to you.
