I got a new 06 CTD and im looking for a good module... . so tell me guys... wait for the Smarty or get a TsT R49???? What would you do???

Get the TST first, as it's available for the '06 trucks.

Then, when the Smarty is available for the '06 trucks, get it and stack 'em.

I'm sure either one are enough to toast your transmisson, run your lift pump dry, and send your EGT's through the roof. All good reasons to upgrade those parts, too :D

The 3rd gen Smarty's are initially only available for the '03-05. 5 trucks. I'm sure the '06 versions won't be far behind.

The TST is such an excellent product, your money would be well spent. The adjustability on the fly is my favorite. Please do not get me wrong, the smarty is great! but, I believe the Smarty should compliment the TST not the other way around. ( this should start some colorful verbal exchanges). :-laf

See my signature below. Although I'm very happy with the mods so far I'll get the Smarty when it becomes available for the 06s.

I'm also scraping my pennies together for a new transmission to handle all the power. I've followed TST's recommendation to not go above 3/3 on a stock trans and from what I understand the Smarty folks suggest no stacking with their product on a stock trans.

I agree totally. For the first version of Smarty's software, I like the Smarty on the 60hp setting and then use the TST to dial up more power on the fly. With further software updates to the Smarty, I think it will outshine the TST, it just needs a little time. :)
