Electric horn that will "call" cattle???

Happy B-day Whitmore

I am just surprised to see a Briggs with overhead valves. I thought they would atleast wait until the 100th aniversary of Buick using overhead valves (2003) to make sure the concept is not just a fad.

Just curious as to what you find wrong with the old tried and true side valve flat head design for small engines? It sure is simple!:)

Agree

I agree with Steve, my old Snapper performed flawlesly for 16 years and still runs good. It does a better job than the new one for suction and had less plastic.

Several reasons of why the old flatheads are dis-appearing, One is marketing... build a better mouse trap! "I want the best______ in the neighborhood". Fill in the blank ie; truck, house, boat,car,.....

The second is that the flatheads aren't as efficient as a OHV eng. and the smog commies are attacking small stationary engines for emissions. Chris

I guess it'll feel right at home with my ol' pushrod Cummins and Harley! Sometimes the best ain't necessarily the latest!:D
