Howdy all,

Having a question about front spring stuff. I have a heavy 220#+ front bumper which has led to a lower front end which I have temporarily alleviated by installing HBS front leveling kit. This also made the truck steer a bit easier. The obvious question is I read a post regarding leveling kits vs springs and the consensus was that a leveler kit was a temp solution at best. So since I basically run stock tires and am not planning on a major lift-perhaps an additional 1-2" past what I have already. I am thinking about going with springs and the black and silver bilsteins as well as links and the full monty once it happens. Anyone have any past exp with this dilemma?

Thanks

my front bumper was 170# (now 150# added intercooler opening) have 2 leveling spacers. Previous owner had a big snow plow which made the track bar (thuren) hit the front diff cover. I ran across a set of new springs (2" lift) cheap, because he wanted a 4+ lift, so I bought them. I have not installed them yet. I am hoping to keep a good ride & keep the front diff clearence to the track bar + keep the level look. I think I have some sag with my stock springs with the high milage (see sig)... and I heard that plow springs are brutal when truck is empty and should be avoided.

I have the stock bumper still, but wanted to do the front leveling the best way. I had a set of custom springs built by Coil Spring Specialties -- individually calibrated coil springs for any suspension need. . This was four or five years ago and the price was in the range of the D25's from Skyjacker. I had them powdercoated before the install and used Bilstein 5100's, they look awsome and perform great.

My camper's on all the time,so I'm using Lorenz's 23% stiffer coils w/2. 25 SAW shocks. My load would simulate a winch bumper I believe.
