It would be great if they offered the Magnesium color which is one the Magnums/300/Chargers; Magnesium with the silver rocker panels would be tough on the Rams

Oh, one more thing Tomeygun, did you run across any near Gears for '06, like a 3. 55 or 3. 43 to compliment the new G56 a little better?? Congrats on your new ride, any estimated time of arrival??

Don't forget to mention the new 36,000 power train warranty. Actually, for the guys that don't to void their warranty, the bombing can start sooooooner :-laf

Nope, still 3. 73 as far as I can see

BUT Inferno red is a new color...

Don't congradulate him too much so far. The last time he ordered a new ride in '02 just for him, it got sold before he bought it and he ended up with a 3rd gen. :-laf

that to me indicates a sideways slider - sideways arrow, and side-to-side rocker switch.

KCJ, I think you're right. What a bummer! :(

But it's still better than having to hang over your seat and try to reach the latch to try to open/close the window. Especially if you're moving...

If you look at the Mega Cab dash pic, you can see the power slider switch below the HVAC controls (between the heated seat switches)... that to me indicates a sideways slider - sideways arrow, and side-to-side rocker switch.

I think you're probably right there Tom. Also, I notice "PLOOD" is back... :{ :( :{

dangit... if that color would have been avalable in 03 when i ordered my 04, it would be that color 100%... that is a very nice shade of metalic red. . [i believe the minivans have the inferno red as the option there]

Yeah, the inferno red is awesome, worlds ahead of the old flame red

The interior looks a little different, dashwise, but that pic has the DVD navigation, so its hard to tell what "normal" radio they are using. Hopefully they'll hurry up and get some '06's on the lots, so we can get a personal view to compare them to the '05's. The "drawings" of the '06's look terrible IMO, but I saw one photo from the auto show and it looked MUCH better in the photo. Not sure how those huge headlights will be in person, but I've got a feeling that the remaining '05's will get sucked up in a hurry over the summer. .

What the heck is "plood"?

And Tim is right, I ordered one of the last 2nd gens in Flame red, 5-spd, PERFECT TRUCK - Well I thought i'd be slick and let my dealer sit on it for a bit while rebates went up - WRONG! - Someone came and bought it within like 3 days

Theres not a day that goes by that I dont want to go up to the salesman that sold it and SMACK HIM upside the head - Just think what I could have right now... . DARN HIM!!!!!!!

anyway, I won't buy that 06 unless it really knocks my socks off... I bet not

PS - The inferno red is the same red as the minivan red

I think you should trade in your BOMBed '03 for a new, ugly, '06, Tom. It just makes so much sense to trading in something with 600 HP for one with 300. ;)

Hehehe, could you imagine the weekend thrashing it would take to swap over all the crap on my truck? And then to have to swap the NV5600 into the new one ?!?! heck with that

Opps, I mean I love the new G56 :-laf :D

Let's hope that we all "love" the new G56... eventually we'll all be faced with buying one and if they do turn out to be lemon's then there's gonna be some hard times ahead for the Tomeygun household!

Any idea how long '06 will be open for order? My lease on the '04 can't be terminated until this fall and I know I don't want an '07... isn't that when the new diesel smog laws go in to effect?

The 2006 model will be open till like may/june of 2006... But you NEVER know with dodge!

I have no idea whats up with the 2007 emissions issues... .

hmm, i wonder if it could be retrofitted???

Yes, CR Lawrence sells them, I got one for my sleeper cab. I know that they had them for 2nd gens. Its a three piece window, the center piece slides out. Its great and was about $350.

If you are thinking about buying a new truck you definatley want to buy before 2007. The emissionm regulation will be changing, and performance is bound to suffer, maybe not in the way of horsepower, but by fuel economy.

Hey Tommygun,

I have been a member here for a while, but currently a Ford owner. I am taking a moment to thank you for the information you supply on the board. I had a 96 and a 2000 Dodge and tried to buy a 05 G56 from a dealer here in far north Texas.

I went to the dealer Monday and found a SLT 4x4 and was willing to settle for it instead of a Laramie if we could get the price right. I could not get a firm price over the phone, so I drove up there today and find out since they only have 14 G56’s left; they want to make well over invoice for them. I had to go find my truck on my own to leave; they could not believe I was not signing the deal.

Oh well, looks like I get to place an order for a 06 the way I want it and get to make a trip to St. Louis.

BTW, I put 600 miles on their G56 in 4 days and I love that transmission! My 96 had a NV4500 and the ’00 had a NV5600.

Good to hear, Its funny to hear some dealers actions... The st. louis market is very tight, so pricing is as big of deal here (to go under invoice, etc)

Anyway, take care, and I look forward to helping you later!

Hmm... ... ..... Inferno red, sunroof, G56 with big honkin' tires(BHT) Oo.

Dakota front end :(

I guess I'll wait for Diesel D-Day (Jan 1 '07) to decide.
