Quiet FASS

Diesel-Dan,

Just received my FASS-HPFP-95-1002 on Friday from Midwest Diesel Performance. Can you tell by the serial number if it is one of the new quiet pumps? Or should I just send it in and be tested before putting it on my truck.

This is a great offer Dan and speaks volumes about your company. My 95 HPFP is a couple of years old and seems noisy to me sometimes. Do I understand correctly that if I buy the kit and install it myself that I will void the warranty because I have to break the seal?

Answer on pump

Diesel-Dan,

Have you had time to check and see if my pump needs to be sent in.

Let me know what you find out.

Thanks,

Ive got to say, the new wear plate really lowered the sound of the fass 200 GPH. I could not do without my rig, so I installed the wear plate and seals and all is much quieter. Thanks FASS !! I know this will help FASS sell more product. If my 200 gph is this quiet, I can only imagine how quiet a 150 or 95 would be !!

Mass Diesel Is Doing Mine Hopefully This Weekend , I Hope Its Not So Loud , There A Good Company And Know How To Keep Fans Of There Products , I'll Report Back With My 2 Cents Once I Switch Over The Pumps

Questions about fass noise update

I got a Fass 150 (serial number 6100 something) last year. It's pretty noisy and I'd like to send it in for the noise update. I've got a couple of questions, about the update and the Fass in general. How long is the turn around for the update? This truck is my daily driver and I can't go without for long. If I read your post correctly I just take the 4 up/down bolts off the pump assembly and send the whole assembly in? Now I have a question about the Fass. When I hit a good bump the pressure drops then comes back up. I can't get it to drop by accelerating, just a good bump. Is this normal?

My fass was noisy as heck and sometimes sounded like a blender that you were dropping clumps of dough into. At 22k miles and 840miles from home it did me a favor and quit working. Installed a mechanical and haven't worried about it or had to listen to it since.
