I've had the 7100's for 8 months and I'm not real impressed with the expansion joint ride in my truck. Off road it really kicks ***. I blast down the logging roads in the Sierra's at 50mph and the ride is great! Down the highway, which I the real reason I bought them, not much better. I put 250lbs of tractor weight in the bed of the truck and that made the ride better than anything. I wish I had at least tried the Rancho's first. $2000 on shocks and springs is pretty pricey. But man, if you take it off road, it really kicks ***.

I ran the stock shocks 45000 miles then Rancho's 45000 miles and since then have run three different valve packages in the KORE King racing shocks and even a set of bilstein 5150's on the rear for a month or so.

The Ranchos on any setting changed the expansion joint bounce a little but overall were not much better than stock, when I tightened them up enough that the truck handled like I wanted they would about shake your teeth out, also the rancho's were totaly worn out when I removed them with 45000 miles on them, much worse condition than the stockers after the first 45000. I would never buy another Rancho shock for the front, on the rear the adjustability is helpful when loaded.

All three of the King valving setups and the 5150's were better than the Rancho's on any setting for the expansion joint bounce.

Why did you get rid of the 5150's after only a month? Was something wrong with them?

Just curious

The 5150's were a fairly nice riding shock, probably the best I've run for the expansion joint bounce but not near enough dampening for good control in my opinion, a lot of kick up in the rear under hard braking and not fun at all with a trailer, borderline dangerous towing heavy IMO, nice ride on light washboards but very busy in larger whoops, kinda mooshy feeling :(

I have an early T-rex King system (basically the same as the current KORE "Race" system with the Fox shocks) and tested the 5150s while Kent was re-valving my Kings and also for a few weeks after I got the Kings back on the front before re-installing the good stuff on the rear ;)
