At least what I think is but hope isn't my injection pump problem. The last time I was able to start it, it ran really rough, but at about 10 pounds of boost, it would billow white smoke in quantities you'd expect from a forest fire. Is this another indication of a nearly dead injection pump? I can't think of what else it could possibly be, I am looking to the much greater wisdom and experience of this forum for ideas. Also a last ditch effort to cling to the unlikey chance that it may not be the vp44. By the way, I did change the Crankshaft position sensor today and that didn't help. Thanks you guys for any help, advice, answers you can provide.

Outback, I'm certainly no expert, but I can report that when my VP gave up the ghost a month ago, it too spit white, light gray smoke just before the final death throes. I think it's time to bite the bullet for you.

Well, I have a feeling you're right. So, now that I will be changing that, does anyone recommend upgrading anything else at the same time while its all tore apart? I am going to tackle the job myself. I don't really like others working on my truck even though they may be more qualified, many times they just don't care. I found I have a cracked exhaust manifold too, I will replace that with the ats as soon as I recover from this bill.
