New Tailgate 2005 DRW

So ordered a new tail gate from carparts.com I was pretty amazed at the price. every corner was bent. Called them up, and over the phone they said they would ship another. which should get here in about a week. I was pretty amazed that they would just decide to ship another without returning this one. We'll see what happens when the new arrives. If they dont change their packaging (add Styrofoam molds on the corners) then it too will arrive with bent corners

My money is on the next one looking exactly the same... The don't question it because it's a common issue with the shipping companies and they simply file a claim, its absurd how much product is disposed of and written off due to shipping damage, and its too expensive to ship back.... Now you have a beater gate for hauling rocks....

yeah i dont have much hope. Maybe ill start a collection of tailgates, keep asking for a replacement until they say no.

I ordered a Cabela's gun cabinet for ammo and such and it looked just the same with every corner bent. Next one came in perfect shape so who know maybe you'll get lucky!

I ordered brand new mirrors for my 04. Took three shipments before getting one without the corner area where they mount to the door, not broken. Horrible packaging.

Amazing. Less than $1 worth of additional packaging could protect hundreds of dollars in damages. You would think that they would take a few mins to protect their product.

You have to hand it to the folks at carparts.com. They did understand that styrofoam molds were needed.

The one corner where the styrofoam fell off is bent. I haven't opened the box any further. My choices are ship another (last time) or a refund request. I requested refund. I'll know in 2 days.

Probably better off looking to.see if anyone has a new take off sitting in the rafters from way back when.

I know I pulled my 2018 off, saving in case my lift gates finally rusts off into dust at least I have something to put back on.

Or if I sell with the lift gate will go to a needy cause.

Refund Approved!. So have to say carparts is honest and tried. A simple fix and they would sell more tailgates...
