I bought a new Dodge at the first of the year but I have been following this page for some time. Traded off my chevy diesel and do not miss it at all. Love this new Ram

I am in Lewiston, site of the PFI pulp mill. It doesnt smell as bad as it used too but occasionally if the wind is just right " WOW"

I did see Ray Trautman had a post on here a while back and I am sure there are others locally that monitor but havent signed on yet. Where in Id are you located Steve.

My son lives in Poc and has a bombed 98. 5 but i havent convinced him to join yet. He monitors this site a lot and has used it for info a lot. Maybe we need to start an Idaho chapter.

Wanting to know if it was a 1/2 ton gasser, or a 1- ton Duramax.

Ok, didn't read your post well enough. . What year was your truck ?

My Grandpa loves the Chevy diesels,, he has had 3 vans with diesels,, and only one gave him trouble (2 out of 3 ain't bad LOL)



The van that gave him trouble was a bummer,, it was a conversion van,, and it would just "turn off" at will,, anywhere it wanted to,, at anytime,, sometimes never in a month, sometimes 2 - 3 times a day,, all you'd have to do is turn the key completely off, and simply restart it. Everything concerning the motor, besides the motor itself was replaced and it STILL had the problem.

It was 95 chev 1 ton dually loaded with all options,leather, auto, 4. 10s, Banks exh & chip, 97 cooling mods, K&N filter, Dual idler gears, remote mounted FSD, 57k miles, three inline fuel pumps, 1 month in dealer shop to figure out oil pressure switch was bad, etc ,etc. took a bath when I sold it but better than could get at dealer for trade in.
