Does any one know what temp thermostat this is?



I asked for a Mopar# 05015708AB or Cum# 3954194 and got a



Mopar# 05015708AC or Cum#3946849



I am not about to pull out a 180 and put in a 190.

Look at the little copper colored pod at the bottom of the thermostat, the temp. is stamped on there, at least most are. bg
 
I found some numbers on the under side by the small spring but they are too small and too difficult to see.



I guess a magnifying glass or a thermometer would help.
 
I got bored so I installed the P# 5015708AC for now.



Old thermostat P#3937171 (190 degree) showed 175 to 180 normal driving, unloaded unless I was putting the coals to it loaded, then it would indicate 190 to 195. (I guess the stock gage is off a bit)



The new thermostat P# 5015708AC, constantly fluctuates between 180 and 190 on the gauge, it never stays still.

It appears this new thermostat is a 190 degree. You will not find any numbers stamped on this new one, only the part number painted on the middle rubber piece.



I guess I will drive to Houston and buy what I want from Cummins, P#3954194.
