OK, I've read alot of the posts about the 315/70x17 BFGs and I'm still trying to decide. Anybody regret having gotten them?

It sounds like some have no rubbing at all, some have very little, then some it sounds like maybe more. I have no lift, and I'm not planning on one for now. Maybe a 2" level down the road. I ordered from Tire Rack and got a phone message that they thougt they were too big and I needed to call them Mon.

Also has braking or handling suffered? If so how much? I would like to cruise at a bit lower RPM. Power will probably feel like a bit less, but that's OK. Easy enough to get back with the right BOMBs.

So I have some time and welcome your feedback or comments to help me decide...

Thanks guys

I had them,315's B. F. G. they werent to my liking, ride was rough and this was with the 2" kit. I put on 285's and im a happy camper. Live and learn,at least for me. The 315's also thru mud on the sides, and this was with a stock rim. Just my . 02;)

i have the 315's under my truck, and i like them just fine. you can feel the power loss [a little bit only] and you can feel that you have to press the brakes harder [again just a little bit] i have factory mud flaps on mine, and they somewhat protect the body from mud/rocks, but i have heard a few rocks hitting the body [just 2 or 3] and i have no rubbing at all [it is close on the mudflaps, but no touch], but i don't ever go offroad. mine on factory wheels. pictures are in my 2500 album in the link below in sig

oh yeah, i am at stock suspension [and i want to lower the rear an inch or 2 to level it out]

I've got them and I do lots of off highway gravel roads. The flaps won't protect the truck by themselves!! You need side steps or some other way to stop the rocks. I put on the side steps. Other than that and that they can be a bit touchy to drive in the snow they are great. ;)

i like the looks of mine. the ride is just as good as the factory 265's. I did notice a little performance loss  . But something that will reallly get you mad is how the speedo, mpg , distance traveled is all off. I cant find a recolo kit... ... ...

The extra width makes em squirm a bit in slush & rutted snow?

I do kind of wish there was a tire that had the extra height without the extra width. (like the 255/85x16s I had on the old truck)

I've got them on my 3500 QC SB 3. 73 gears HO Auto. Yes there was a noticible power loss, but still will occassionally spin them even on dry pavement, yes there was a noticible, but not bad increase in braking required. ********BUT*******at 1900-2000 rpm you are right around 70 on the speedo, which is about 75-76 actual. Just perfect for the michigan freeways. . The ride was NOTICIBLY softer. Snow ???Do not know yet, but there are a lot of Hummer H2's running around all winter, so they cant be that bad... . 285's would be a good choise also. I only rub the lower link bar on tight turns... YES they DO throw rocks.

I just put the 315s on my 2500 and have no rubbing and mine seems to ride better. I havn't notice any power loss, but that might be because I had under 200 miles on the truck and I've got 4. 10 gears. Right now, I'm running 45/40 front/rear in the tires. What are the rest of y'all running in them?

Put on an Edge EZ... Level 2 Stomp it on dry pavement, gets rolling then about a little more that a chirp from tires spinning. Level 3, squeals tires about3 seconds, level 4 about double that... . I went back to level 2, just looking for a little extra, not too much, AND I do not have guages YET..... Did not plan on buying the Edge, but saw it at a Snowmobile show for a good price so it was one of those "Spur of the moment" purchases..... Hope the wife does not find out..... :D

Don't forget your spare as well... ... BIG difference if you get a flat from a 265 to a 315... Mine is at the tire store waiting for me to bring the truck to change the spare over...

315's: i am cant get mine to balance out perfect, lost power not bad but got i back with ez on 4, braking was greatly effected.

i know i am not full of bs b/c i am drving dads 04 and i can tell the d/f

I have had the 315's for a year now and I have more rock chips then I want to admit!!! Even with BIG aftermarket flaps. I tow more then I want to and now have 22K on them and they are over half worn out, more like 3/4 worn out. I think the D load rating is too weak for the weight of the truck. My buddy works for a tire dealer and I still can't keep them balance properly. I already have a flat spot in one of them. I will not buy these tires again. I am hoping someone else comes out with something comparable in size with a E rating. But at 120. ea its hard to pass up... :(

Big Hammer, the 315's will be fine. If you remember riding in my truck they didn't rub at all. You won't be sorry. Oh the were 35X12. 50 Mickey Thompson Baja Claws.

Oh yea, that ONE truck I've riden in. :D Those are nice tires. Won't last long with that right foot condition, though...

I just got some 265's from a friend to save on the M/T but I don't see these lasting very long either it's a lot easier to roll the smaller tires. I am selling my turbo if you are interested.

Hey "DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY" Your not going to be disappointed. The rock throwing can be a problem though. Take a look at the pic's of my running boards . Since I put them on the problem no longer exists. (Cheaper than a paint job:D ):)

I like mine as well, mostly for looks and highway cruising reasons. But I am having lots of trouble balancing them as well. They were fine until I had them rotated and balanced for the first time, and ever since, I can't keep the steering wheel from shaking at 65mph.

I would probably buy them again, especially at $119 each!
