My alloy OEM rims (eBay) came on the same big brown truck as the tires. (I like the look of them BACKING in the drive ) I dropped them at the local tire shop for mounting and balancing and will pick them up tomorrow in what might be our 1st snowstorm of the year.
i had the same thing after the 1st rotate and balance they shake the crap out of the truck at 65mph. cant get them to balance out right. the effect on braking sucks. but for 119 cant beat them. i am going with the 305/70/17 buckshot mudders next. i have 22k on them and they show very little wear they are quite. they do cause the truck to pull with the crown of the road alot more.
these are all things you should be aware of.
last comment they look good enough and are cheap enough to void all of my complaints
Sorry to highjack the thread but where is everyone getting there 315 BFG ATs for 119 a pop? Im thinking about new tires around Christmas for the snow ski trip in the mountians but none of the tire sites I found had 315's BFG ATs for 17s.
I got em from tirerack.com - 315/70 x 17 BFG AT K/O for $124 plus shipping. I think they had a sale on em a month or 2 ago. Of course I missed out on saving $20 by waiting.
Well after a few days of riding around on them, I like em. They seem to have balanced well (they did static balance with weights on the inside only-- Said it saves the finish of the alloy rims?) and they ride nice. They do rub a bit near full lock (either direction) on the upper control arms. I wonder what's different? Some don't rub and some do. Is it steel vs alloy? (I would guess they have the same setback, etc. ) I'm not sure spacers would be enough to help it. I wonder if I should try to limit the steering slighly.
nah its because those people working on the assembly lines have sloppy tolerances to go by. . sorry if i made anyone made i am just used to holding tolerances of . 001 of an inch
