New Tires?

Im looking at buying new tires and wether I should go with 265/70 R17 which Ive been told no wheel spacers needed. Or 285/70 R17 with wheel spacers. I do want the bigger tires to fill the huge wheel wells. I dont tow/haul very often but when I do its usually HEAVY loads. I like to know some good points pros/cons etc... on the subject. If any pics of the two please post em.
