I add 1/2 tank only, 2.5 gal jug, for the summer unless I am going to tow the RV. In the fall I will top it off at a truck stop after the Low DEF warning. The Truck Stop is out of the way for me most of the time.

The DEF gauge makes this easy to do.

Even at 100 degrees, DEF in your truck will last about a year.

It's just getting warm here. Wait till it gets hot and stays hot being 105-117F with 121 the highest I have seen.

No need to carry a box with you. Walmarts are everywhere as are Loves, Flying J and Pilot truck stops. You won't have any issues getting DEF if you need it.

Right now we can say DEF is available everywhere, it seems even Target has it on the shelf.
There is really absolutely no need to care it around.

DEF was $2.859 / gallon at my last purchase at the pump. There is a fuel distribution center near me, Conrad and Bishoff, that has DEF at the pump, as well as several grades of gas, including race gas and Kerosene. The Diesel was $3.33 last check. They also have Diesel #1(?) I think, but way expensive. As was pointed out by Ozy and others, DEF seems to be available in a lot of places, but it's not free...
