my 98 with a 96 12v, stock o/d transmission and 4x4 3500 gets 15 MPG up hill down hill, loaded not loaded. 15MPG period all interstate driving. Uses no oil, does'nt smoke, starts like a champ, everything just peachy. Don't want to tweak anything if this is normal gas mileage. Thanks.

Got out the ole window sticker. Transmission auto 4-speed, axle ratio4. 10 axel anti-spin differential tires are

LT215/85R16E All Season. Carrys 125 gallons of fuel incl. aux tank.

mine gets 18 plus or minus 1mpg around town , and 20 plus or minus 1 on the road. got 17. 9 last week around town. towing it gets 11 mpg hauling a 8k tractor and a 6k trailer and a golf cart about 1k . has dropped about 1mpg over the last 250k maybe time to have it timed and new injectors ( i'm still on the originals) :):)

Mine is all over the place. Long trip, freeway 21mpg. Trips to town 16 to 18mpg. Pasture 12mpg. Loaded with 10 ton of hay 9mpg. A head or side wind is tough on mileage too.

Thanks for the quick reply. Considering I'm a little less younger than GOD I do drive the speed limit only. I haul my tractors at my farm in Missouri and don't notice any change + or -. The truck is fantastic starts one touch at O or 100 degrees, Just wish I could up it a few MPG's. Oh also the engine only has about 3000 miles since rebuilt .
