I recently bought a 1995 2500, 4x4, with 210,000. We just finished a complete front suspension upgrade and now going to freshin up the old 47rh.
It does not have overdrive currently. The only other mod was a banks power pack that was installed.
My question is on a recommended transmission build. Do i need a high performance tc, valve body etc. I wont be towing anything over 6k. Any replies would be welcomed.
Thanks nick

My opinion, is yes you need a shift kit or other way to add pressure to it. You also need a tighter converter.
You will like it, truck will run a long time too.

Fox,
Looks like i am going to go with a georend low stall tc and hp valve body. Probably going to keep the stock input shaft its inspected and ok,
Thanks for the reply

Until you get stupid with the power, stock shafts are fine. Get the better clutches and steels, since you're in there anyway, and while you've got the fluid drained get the check ball out of your cooler line.
