Oo. , my requested user name came back approved!

Although I am new to the TDR forum :cool: I am not new to Dodge/Cummins. I had a 98 5spd, one of the last of the 12 valves and loved it. If I could figure out how to post a pick I would. One of it towing a 27ft 5th wheel w/slide and 22ft boat together. Had to part with it in 2000 with only 17k on the clock ( :-{} Divorce lawyer) :{

Just picked up a new 04. 5 6spd 325/600 SWB 2500 Atlantic Blue a week ago and am soooooooo Happy to be back in the saddle of REAL TRUCK, again - If I knew how to post a pick I have one of it too!

Couple quick questions I have formulated reading thru posts before I joined up and whilst waiting for my user name to be approved.

What is the "Rear Wheel Liner Kit"?

Has anybody put a trans temp guage in a manual 6spd? If so, where does the probe go?

I have 500 miles on now - going to hook up my daughters race car trailer and head up over the top of a BIG HILL this weekend. Should be OK right?!

Welcome Tee, this is the part number for the wheel well liners, should be about $90 from your local dealer, 82207367. Can't help you on the temp probe, should be fine towing as you are past the 500 mile mark required break in for the R&P gears.

Thanks for the part number.

What exactly do they look like?

I have some inner fender plastic deals in the back of the wheel well that go to the bottom of the fender and up to the underside of the steel molded part in the bed? Do I already have them?

Nope, these are full booties like your last truck should have had standard. I don't know what part of this grand country you're from, but if you're in the snow belt you should plan a full underbody protection plan before winter. I am.

Welcome aboard. "This place is like therapy but nobody gets better"

I welded a 1/2" steel coupling to my left side pto cover, then drilled a hole in it,(drain the oil first :) ). It probably wasn't nessessary, but I like guages, I had it and I needed to plug the hole in my guage panel. It runs cooler at freeway speeds than slower two lane roads. Not sure why, maybe the air flow is better. I have never seen it over 190 deg. towing.

6 speed temp probe

Give Fabcraft a call. If you do a search with Google they will come up. They make an aluminum PTO cover with a 1/8" amd a 1/2" NPT hole. They look good and are very high quality. Around $40. I have the number at home I'll post it later after I get home. Ken Irwin
