Picked up a 1994 2500 with 169K on it today and have a few questions. I did search and found a few answers but I have some more questions.

1. I'm going to install a DD mag hytec pan and put the stock trans temp sensor in the pan and the sender for my gauge in the hot line. Will this allow lockup and O/D operation to work normally or do I need to install the resistor?

2. The truck has 2 gauges installed a 30psi boost and pyro. The pyro is installed post turbo and wont get any higher than 850, while max boost is 17-18psi. To me the EGT's seem a little high for post turbo and only that much boost. This is a WH1C turbo. I havent looked too close yet but is there a way to block off the wastegate on this turbo to produe more boost?

3. I'm going to get the KDP done, change all the fluids and filters, install new boost, pyro, trans temp gauges, remove the silencer ring, throw in a BHAF and straight pipe it. Anything else I'm missing? I'm happy with its performance so no real bombs for now, but is there anything else I should check over or possibly replace?

thanks

Zach.

Don't move the stock transmission temperature sensor. The PCM needs it right where it is. Otherwise, you are a long time getting into overdrive.

I don't know if you can satisfactorily replace it with a resistor.

I have my gauge sender in the pan.

The 47rh transmission has it's peculiarities but, with a little understanding, works quite well. If you are going to tow large loads it will need to be upgraded.

Check the lines from the transmission to the coolers for leaks. If they are still the original lines, they will have the quick disconnect fittings which can give trouble.

Make sure it has had all of the recalls attended to.

Hi Zach,

You may try to go to a triple disc converter to help move the truck better. I had mine installed over 2 years ago & what a difference it made in my truck. The Goerend Brothers did a fantastic job. They took apart the trans while it was out, it was healthy. This is one of the best mods for an automatic.

The big choices are best made on paper. Sit down with all the info gleaned at the tdr website, write the costs, pros, & cons of future mods, then make your plans.

Don't forget exterior mods as well. My truck is coming back from the body shop/interior shop soon. I had custom stiching done to the seats and headliner. Consider all your options, then go for it.
