Just found an 01 with 62,000 miles in great shape! Very tickled. When I was younger, I traded almost every year, loved new trucks! Now I'm pleased as punch that I'm in a low mileage truck for 35-40K less than a new one. Funny how a guys priorities change with time. Gonna make this my ultimate towing rig.

I recently rejoined the 24-valve club with an '01 as well, but now that it's been almost 10 years since the last 2nd Gen rolled off the assembly line it was not easy finding a nice clean well-maintained rig. I was happy to finally find a red sport '01. 5 short box 4x2 with 88k miles in September and have been loving the truck so far.

I have had 4 2nd gen trucks, 2 were 01's & 2 were 02's. I have also had a first gen 92. For some reason I have no desire to go out and buy a new truck. If I were to win the lotto or come across a large sum of money I would still not buy a new dodge cummins, I would simply travel across the country trying to find the best shape 02 I could find and buy it. It just seemed to be everything I wanted, as if were to build a truck exactly how I wanted it. I now see why there is such a following of first gens, some guys love that model. I would not want anything but a 2nd gen 24 valve truck. pics in my photo gallery. Just my opinion ...
