Hey everyone! I'm new to the TDR and to owning a diesel.

I had a Ram 1500 that was stolen last December (merry Christmas  ). He rolled it infront of a cop, and justice was served. I decided to step up to a diesel when I replaced it. What a fun truck to drive!!:D

Now comes the hard part. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to start educating myself on diesels?

I'm talking about the real basic stuff. I know a lot of the work is easy, but I kind of need pictures or someone to stand there and point and grunt.

You're there. Just read all the forums here nad you'll get as much expert advice and you can anywhere and the people here will help you with anything, just ask.

Charley:)

Welcome, you've come to the right place... After you get your "signature" up and running, we will be able to see what you have. If it's a newer 24V, the first mods I'd have done it a good set of gauges... You will find plenty of info on this site to keep you busy BOMBing for a long time to come, and some great maintenance info too... :D

Scott,

First of all... . Hi and welcome to the TDR.

Second, order a set of FACTORY service manuals for your truck.

Third, Bookmark Dave Fritz's website www.dieselram.org

Fourth, watch out for the dreaded "BOMBitis"

Fifth, check out your local TDR Chapter.

And last but not least, hang around here and ask questions, we're all here to help each other. Oo.

Welcome to the TDR. I live in Aurora. There are a bunch of us around the area. There is a local TDR chapter around here, but I have not been there myself. I'm sure someone will mention it soon.

Scott,

Welcome to the TDR!!!

Now for your question. If you would like assistance on learning your truck, I have 3 options for you. First, feel free to call me (720-685-8719) whenever you are ready to service your truck or just want to get together to talk and learn. I have 2 dodges, a 2000 and a 2001 and would be glad to show you the differences and teach you everything that I can.

I live up in Brighton and would be glad to meet up with you and help out. I honestly gained a lot of my knowledge not only from the guys here on the TDR... but from going outside and tinkering around and learning where everything is adn how it functions.

Second... . please feel free to join the RMTDR when ever we have meetings. It looks like our next one will be on March 10th. One of our fellow TDR guys is driving here to Denver so we are all going to get the guys together and just BS.

And for the last Option. Do exactly as the guys above said. Stick around here and ask questions. These guys have a wealth of knowledge.

BTW Scott... I can show you some cool ways to add more power... ha ha ha... . that BOMBing bug bit me pretty hard.

Shovelhead - Sooo has anyone found an antidote for that lethal BOMBitis yet? I think my wife is catching it... she keeps telling me she wants the DTT setup with DD2's. LMAO

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Kevin, I'll have to take you up on that! I'll bring the beer. :D

BTW, I'm getting married in June. How did you give the bomb bug to your wife?:D

Anytime you want to get together just give me a call. I enjoy nothing more then working and learning on these beasts.

About the wife... . well let's just say that after she drove my truck with the DTT setup and the DD2's... she had to have a truck of her own. You'll understand once you drive my truck...

So here we are... . with a 2k shortbox and a 2k1. 5 longbox. We are just saving up to be able to give her truck a couple of goodies. LMAO
