any help would be appreciated. I got lots more Questions but I will wait until Ive had the time to look around first.

Welcome to the TDR, Mike.

Yup, you have the 47RE... no doubt about it.

Everything with an automatic from '96 and up has the 47RE... until '03 when they started stuffing the 48RE into the Cummins powered 2500/3500 trucks.

The '94 and '95 trucks have the 47RH - mechanically governed transmission.

Automatic transmissions are interesting beasts - I left mine up to an expert... you might find in the end that this is the best route to take...

Hi Mike; Welcome to TDR. .

I had my transmission rebuilt and modified by AST.

Best thing I ever did. Costly though, $4k+.

You'll love your DCD. Ask questions, Good Luck.

Welcom

Welcome Mike. I think what Harold meant to say was ATS in Colorado. But while we are at it let me recommend www.gbtransmissions.com in Iowa. Have fun we got almost the same truck, except you got a little extra room. Let me know if I can help out w/ anything.

Thank you Everyone,

Ive heard of the georend Bros, And ATS and I think I will leave it up to a Pro to do the work,

I just have to keep adding to the Trans Fund for a While,

I saved up and sold off my old truck to buy this one "no Truck Payment" my wife didnt even mind me spending 15K on it. it in real great shape well maintained. 135K miles. these trucks are hard to find around here, most people dont want to sell them. Ive changed all the filters to Fleetgaurd and Use Stanadyne every tank, I ordered new shocks and Steering stabilizer they will be here soon. Im Thinking about adding a Fuel plate but dont know if thats a good Idea right now everyone I have spoken to says a #10 TST reccomends a #8 I dont want to over power the transmission

but I would like to be able to get out of my own way, others told me to slide the stock plate foreward. Any help form the Round Table would be appreciated.

You folks a great to know!!

Mike

Without the transmission upgrade, I would get a set of gauges, slide the stock plate forward, make sure the governor arm is adjusted properly and put in a 3K governor spring kit. That is a pretty inexpensive start.
