hey guys im new member here been following this forum off and on for years. have a question, Im looking to pickup another dodge diesel new to me.

actually a chevy truck with a 93 5.9L cummins and auto trans in it. Looks like a fun project to have a fun hot rod for a while and then build a 4x4 out of. pretty sweet price but no start, guy said it sometimes start sometimes doesnt. thinks either lift pump or injector pump. I assume the worst and likely need to replace injector pump. Trying to do my due dilligence and factor what it costs. I know very little about the pumps on these my experience with my last dodge was an 01 with a vp44.

looking for prices on replacement pump for this guy? ive seen prices up to 1000 bucks on ebay. seems kinda high to me but maybe thats going rate?

thanks in advance!

Contact this guy he can help you out . Thehungrydiesel.com Eric is a Great guy to deal with .I would try hooking a small electric fuel pump to system to see if that fixes it first before you dive into the Pump being bad .

so i picked up the truck got it running, it actually runs pretty good and sounds healthy, pump has a bunch of leaks on it which I suspect is why it wouldnt start. I primed it and cracked all the lines and eventually got it started. leaks go away when its running more or less but once u shut it down it leaks like a siv. So i need to either rebuild the pump or replace it.
