Hello all, i have owned my truck now for about 4 months and i love it! i have some old pics of it, since i have repainted the flaking off white paint. It is a 89 with 187k miles. has the 727 but soon to be swaped with a nv4500. i had a question with the swap. What trucks can i use the pedals out of, i went to the junk yard today and saw some pedals out of a 84 ram with the slant 6 but they looked like they wouldnt work at all. Also i still need a bellhousing and a flywheel still so if anyone knows of them for cheap let me know. Thanks in advance

I live in St. Louis, I am 21, and my truck is pretty much stock, 3 inch straight piped, boost guage, soon to have my pyro instaled, and my 4 inch pipe as soon as i buy a downpipe. also have a set of alcoa style wheels on there. as soon as my pyro goes in she wil start getting turned up :) more recent pics soon to come.

Welcome. You made the right choice. I have a similar truck, peeling paint included. I'm happy with the 727 transmission. I know it could use an overdrive gear, but that's what makes the early trucks so special/unique.

What is that large black box setting on the driver side inner fender well? An early version of cruise control?

Hey, classic 1stGen truck- peeling paint, looks to have been well worked. If you want pedals, let me know. I have a source for parts, though it may be a while before I get that way again.

Welcome to the group. Best CTD education around!

Warning, too much time spent here can cost you as you become corrupted with ideas on how these can be built. :-laf

I have it all. Bell flywheel pedels master slave would you like the hump in the middle of the cab. I think you can send an old bell to out west and for 300 they exchang it for one machined to mate a 4500. 419 574 1848.

Welcome aboard, these are some of the best people around on this site, a factory SM and a subscription to TDR is all ya need to get started, everyone has been and still is a great help, again Welcome to the 1st Gen section.

Welcome.

If you wanted to drive to Ct with a trailer and haul home an engineless, rear axle-less, (maybe a Getrag less) 89 chassis we could talk. Might even let the getrag go with it for the right $$ which wouldn't be much.

I sold my engine for 1500 its going in a loader. Sold the getrag and rear axle for 800. The rest is left out back. The 90 is gone now and makes me sad that was my horse it's hard to seperate a man from his horse. But the Verginia DOT says the hourse needed to be put down out of there missery. I am happy that the driveline lives on.
