ctd purchase-seeking advice

transmission Concerns....

Hello all. I've had my '99 2500 for 3 years now, and I've just discovered the TDR. I don't know how I've managed without it. And, after browsing for a few days, I'm scared my wallet is going to get a lot thinner (BOMB). I'm in the Middle East now, but I'm supposed to get back home in August (can't wait to drive my truck). That reminds me, has anyone out there had to store their truck for a long time (6 months). All I did was add some fuel stabilizer before I left and had my brother drive it around a few miles once or twice. Should I do more? Well, I just wanted to intoduce myself. I'm sure when I get back I'll be spending some of my extra pay I'm earning over here on some upgrades. Now I have a place to get some good advice.

Better late than never,

Chuck

Chuck, glad to have you on the board. Sounds like you've got the truck taken care of. Only thing I'd add to your storage plan is be sure that your brother drives it several miles (10 or 20 min. ) when he cranks it up.

You want to get everthing up to operating temps to cook off any moisture that may have collected in the vitals.

Good luck and take care.

Chuck, I forgot to say thanks for signing up and taking care of us.

I and millions of others appreciate the sacrifices you guys are making.

I'm willing to bet, if Chuck's brother drove that truck a mile, he drove it at least twenty :)

Welcome to the TDR, Chuck
