scored a 20 gauge pedersoli howdah at cabelas at a good deal, not sure why it was on clearance for $480 from the normal $600 but ill take it, i have only had time to screw around a little but it is fun and not really abusive to your hand with a ounce of #4 sitting on around 55gr of 777 (having a hard time finding 3f BP in stock anywhere) it shoots tighter with a smaller charge of 40gr but i had limited variety of wads/cards and charge measuring capability on the first outing so i bet i can shrink the group, but it is still pretty good at under a foot at 10 yards and it has some balls too, it'll shoot though both sides of a steel soup can at that distance. i have read about others with this piece putting both barrels on the paper at 25 yards with round ball Oo.

pistols like this were originally made to knock the teeth outta tigers that took getting shot at personally and ran right up the side of the elephant to the howdah (basket you ride in) to have a word with you ;)

OMG! Two barrels? Only a crazed lunatic would need two barrels! We'll have to get that under the next assault weapon ban. :-laf

Cool gun.

There were alot of custom made firearms in that era. I read an article, many years ago about a 12 Ga. Howdah. It had rifled bores and shot huge slugs(not what we use as slugs today) but brass cases, black powder and . 775"-. 780" diameter, rifle sized chunks of lead weighing more than 2 ounces. A hand held, crew served, double barreled handcannonOo. . GregH

from the paperwork (of which all of it is there including the warranty card) i figure it is an 1988 model maybe early 89, . 44mag and there is no mention of the . 50ae in the accessory catalog that came with it
