Here is the deal. My transmission is toasted. I have a $2000 budjet. In your opinion what would you do??? I need a strong transmission. Im not sled pulling I just want a transmission that will hold some power and give me a good firm shift. Rebuild or new transmission?

Start saving or get a loan. Call your parents! Do it once and do it right. You have already dealt with one of the best. SNOKING

many others will agree with snoking... do it right the first time. I was in your shoes and I'm glad I went with the whole deal. . expensive. . yes but at least I don't have to peace something together and hope it takes all the mods. So much goes into an auto that I wouldn't consider just a converter and valve body. It's tough to hear but get another 2g's and do it right :) good luck!

Ditto on what SNOKING said. Actually if you have 2k you could go the rest on low interest card and pay off $200/month this way you'd be done. Mine was taking a $#%&^ @ 139k so I did the whole thing on CC and had it done while I was in the Keys on vacation. I ain't rich - that's why I did it on credit and just payed it off as I could. Couldn't deal without my truck due to a bad trans. It was able to make it from my house - Levittown, PA to Tim Barber's shop (now TRE Diesel Performance - still owned and operated by Tim) in Norflok, VA. It was great to stop on the way home and drive the truck with an awsome trans home. MHO
