2022 3500 srw came with Firestone tires Transforce HT LT275/70 R18 M+S. I assume 10
Ply but does not say on the tire. Rear has 74 and front 72 by my tire gauge. On drivers door still it says run them 60 f and 80 r. I’m assuming full load. As in about 3500 lbs in my case. The front tires look a little saggy low now empty. Truck rides good empty and normal no camper load will be not much about 750 lbs in winter empty. For ride comfort and best traction snow and how low can I take these for winter driving.Your thoughts please

Weigh the truck with a full tank of fuel. Then use the inflation chart from Firestone for the weight and PSI. The rear of mine by weight is in the 40PSI range.

IMO get some better tires and dump these rough riding TrashForce on CL for whatever you can get.

TRA load tables only go down to 2070@35ps for that size tire. My dually rear is only 3500 unloaded so you could easily go to 35 unloaded.

FYI they are rated at 3020@60psi which is probably a good number for the front.

8150 lbs 28 gallons diesel full Plus 500 lbs so 8150 total
8150 divided by 4. 2000 plus each tire empty. 45 plus 5 So 50 rear 60 front. Same as you old truck
Not 72 f74 rear that are in them now it will ride even better and traction should improve

Just replaced the Firestones at 28k. Not a bad tire, quiet and smooth. I ran mostly 60 front 75 back and probably overinflated but I like em stiff for cross winds. Got Michelin LTX. Time will tell if worth the price.

I run 55/35 on my truck empty, which is heavier than your regular cab truck and should work as a starting point until you can get actual weights.

Regardless of the pressure you will likely find tire shouldn’t be used on snow/ice. It’s a crappy 3 season tire at best, so I’d run them as the lowest possible pressure you can to help with traction.

For speeds less than 45 and lots of snow/ice I wouldn’t hesitate running 45/25… and often will on my truck.

I don't have a newer SRW but this all seems like solid advice!

I had Firestone Transforce AT on my truck. Got 40k miles out of them. For the most part I liked them. Seemed like once they hit the halfway point they wore down quick and were slick in the rain. You should get more miles from your HT tires.
Last month I replaced them with Michelin AT tires. The Michelin’s are definitely noisier but I was looking for just a slightly more aggressive tread than the Firestones. Both ride about the same.
The tires you have will be fine for highway use but not much else.

@Ltngdrvr received close to 100k on one set, IIRC.

27k miles. Mostly highway.

100K miles would be beyond impressive in my experience.

My average towing is hard on tires, but very few of those 10K miles of use were dirt road towing since I replaced the tires the first fall I owned the truck before my roughest miles.

Dads set wore just as fast and they were his summer only tires for a couple years.

Had 2 with Radial Pull ... Pulled Teeth at Firestone to get warranty on one as they wore so fast. Radial pull is very short tread depth warranty. Even with 1 new tire at 5000 miles and using the spare they were on the wear bars at 18K miles.

Harsh Ride. I was considering suspension mods until I put a set of Coopers on and much better ride with them. The new tires straightened up the steering wheel as the last of the TrashForce Radial Pull was removed!

Road surface and temperature affect tire wear ... I be on the short end of tire life over that. Anything over 30K miles is good in my book and the rest is treadwear pro-rate warranty.

I will be going to coopers but got to wear these out first. A foot of snow last night and still snow. Dry fluffy stuff. The ski areas are happy. Snowblower time then maybe a ride around town in the new truck to test the tires out
