They offered the std DC 100,000 mile Extended Warranty (Brings the 3/36 and 7/70 factory warranty up to 100k to match the CTD warranty all with a 100 deductible) for $1595 saying that it's 100 over the DC std cost of $2250. No sales tax on that warranty here in MN either. No pushing, just offered!

Is that the "Added Care Plan" or the "Maximum Care"

from the http://www.eservicecontracts.com site mentioned here:

Maximum Care $100 7 years / 100kMiles $1630

Added Care Plan $100 7 years / 100kMiles $1220

I would say you bought the "other" warranty from the dealer. Not the same as the D/C max care warranty

No, I purchased the Max Care Warranty. I was very specific about it, in fact, with the finance guy.

Extended Warranty ???

Thanks for the input so far... ... . Helpful - Still on the fence.

BTW the warranty is a "Maximum Care" policy AND is a $100 deductable

5/100 (Not 7/100 which would be a lot better). Expect to put on 12-18 miles /yr.

Did buy a 1 yr old/6k miles, '89 GMC PU back in '90. Bought truck from a Lincoln dealer and then bought a 7yr/100 extented warranty from a GMC dealer, $800. Wrong move - Never used it!!!!

More input welcome... .....

My son sold vehicles for many years and says "don't do it". Most don't keep the vehicle to 100 k anyway. Just more profit and pays the salary of the guy in the "suit" IMO. doc

My son also in the Auto business (Wholesaler). Also says "Not Worth It". If it was a 7/100 rather than a 5/100 might be better able to justify, but this way at 12k/yr miles one would need $800/yr repairs to break even (In years 4-5 and 36-60k miles bumper to bumper - 7/70 powertrain still covered) OR if you are putting lots of miles on the truck as some here do may still be better able to justify.

Again - Thanks for all the comments.
