I finally got my truck. Picked it up late last night. It was 80 miles from Fairfield back to the house and the overhead computer said 20. 1 MPG. I sure hope it is correct, my V10 that I traded I would get at best 13 on the highway.
Power - Man it has the power. When I ordered my truck they didn't have any HO/auto's to test drive. I test drove a SO/auto and HO/6-speed instead. There is a big difference. It is very responsive off the line. Once at cruising speed it is not quite as responsive but you still feel the power! The truck runs circles around the SO/auto and I found it wanting to spin the tires since it was raining and the streets where wet.
The drive home was at about 9:00 at night in the rain. The fog lights work wonders. You can see much more of the road in front of you with them on. The auto-dimming rear view mirror was also nice.
So far just little negatives that I will have to get used to. The cruise controls are not lit up. My previous truck was a Ford and they were lit up. Also the Ford controls only had 5 functions the Dodge has about 8. After fidaling with it for a while I finally started to memorize the controls. I got in trouble by the wife for not ordering the light group. She really wanted the lighted vanity mirror on her side.
Only other minor gripe was you can't see the cup holders at night. Getting a drink back in the cup holder was difficult at night. Somewhere I read a thread about installing an LED down there and tying it into the dash dimmer.
Overall thoughts - Great truck for the money! Awesome power. The Infinity sound system is wonderful. I can't wait to hook up my fifth wheel trailer.
