Wow, after all the attempts to get a salesman to sell me a new 04 1/2, finally got it last night. Really beautiful and very classy looking... Question for you guys (saleman did not know)... . Does the anti slip 3. 73 rear end have synthetic lube in it? Also does the auto 48RE transmission have synthetic fluid in it? Truck really rides so much nicer than my 99. Hopefully will have as good service as the 99... Thanks for everyones input..... Any suggestions as to best way to break her in or any little glitches to look for will be appreciated... Am satisfied with 8500. 00 off MSRP... . Really very quite engine. 48RE a little abrupt in shifts but will probably get a little smoother. :)

lsds have syn. I think the transmission does as well, but not sure. Cnogratulations.

The breakin consensus seems to be "drive it like you stole it".

Opinions vary greatly on when to do 1st oil change. Try a search on "first oil change". .

They sure are nice, aren't they? I was really impressed by how much nicer it is.

They come with all Synthetic from the factory except the motor which comes with Valvoline Premium Blue. The debate about which manufactor actually makes there fluid most seem to think it's Castrol. I went with Royal Purple in the rear end with a new Mag Hitec cover at 12K and will change the tranni and transfer case over to Redline at 30K and will also put Royal Purple in the front diferencial then.

I do oil & filter changes at 7500 miles and rotate the tires and replace the fuel filter every other oil change. I am at 22K right now with a Oct 2002 build.

CONGRARTS!!!!

Congrats on the new wheels.

Let your fingers do the walking on your key board and try and keep from going blind from reading ALL the posts on your questions. There has been a lot ask these same questions.

My first piece of advise is to check your fluid levels, PS- DIFF- TRANSFER CASE-(4x4) front axle brake master cylinder. these trucks are known to be shipped LOW on these items. The svc writers say these should all be done when the PRE-DELIVERY-INSPECTION is done---N O T!!!!!! Make them do it, if they are low. Make sure they add the RIGHT stuff. Some have been getting friction modifier added to the diff, (LSD) when not needed. Go here for the check off list.
