Help,

I ordered a new Mega 07 but made a mistake on the order sheet. I selected the defroster option for the rear window not realizing that it deletes the power rear window! - (The dealer did not know either) Is there any way to change the order with Dodge? I just got my VIN from the dealer, and the ship date is not till 9/4/2006. The dealer states there is nothing he can do  I just got off the phone with DC and the agent did not know what she could do or who to transfer me to either :(

Any ideas how I can change this before the truck is built?

Tx,

Rob

Just don't accept the vehicle when it comes in. Order another one. Did you put a deposit on it? Is it refundable? If not, how much is the Power rear window option worth?

Changing a vehicle order once it hits D1 (scheduled) status is REAL tough. If there is enough lead-time before the scheduled build date, a DC rep MAY be able to edit the order, but no guarantee it will actually carry through. With a ship date of Sept. 4, it sounds like it's already too late.

How can a dealer NOT know the defroster is not available with ANY sliding rear window????????? Checking the defroster should automatically UN check the slider. I always review the sheet with the customer BEFORE giving the sales manager the order sheet to make sure there are no gray areas like this. Hope you can work something out!

Should have checked

I should have checked the build sheet, but the dealer should have know about the rear window being deleted if the defroster was ordered. I just don't want to wait for another truck to be built if I refuse this one. Additionally, I already put down $ 5,000 as a deposit, so I know I will loose money. I guess I will have to find out how much $$$ it will cost to install one after the fact.

The OEM rear slider is computer controlled I doubt it is being offered for dealer install.

You may not be able to get the OEM after the fact, but you can get one on the After Market. Probably get a nicer one on After Market. Oo.

more than likely you will be able to reorder, unless you ordered something the dealer can't sell. I ordered my boat from the factory in 95 and was worried about losing my deposit when the dealer said, "that what I ordered would sell if something went wrong and not to worry". Don't know your contract but would guess that it would be in writing that your deposit is nonrefundable.
