Bought a new 05 3500 6-speed. Traded in the 01 3500 auto. Only driven 90 miles so far. Another great truck! Love the machine thus far. Too bad all the 01 toys don't fit the 05. I haul a 02 Lance 1161 camper and look forward to the first trip to evaluate the differences in handling. Capicity is up from 11000 to 12200 GVWR. Reports to follow.

Congrats BIGFUN

I just did the same thing friday. Traded the truck in my sig for 05 QC 4x4 dually NV5600 SLT deep molten red pearl.

I did take out my 5vr hitch, tool box, cb & antennas, & back up lights, but all the other goodies went with the truck. Somebody is going to get a nice ride that only had 29,000 mi. on the clock.

Congrats from another Pac NWn'r. We bought our 3500 SRW 5 weeks ago today. Love It! I graduated from a '93 D250 to this rig. Man what a difference! Buddy of mine bought his 3500 DRW, which he converted to a flatbed, a couple of weeks before I took the plunge. He loves his, but I don't think he appreciates it quite the same way I do. He traded in his 2002 CTD which was chipped as well as other goodies. We like to restore tractors and take to shows here in the west. He's ready to chip his new one. I think I'll be waiting awhile. This one has a hell of a lot more power that my '93. Anyway, enjoy!!!

Congratulations on the new truck. You'll love the truck hauling your big Lance, but if you were like me, I haul a Lance 1121, you'll definitely notice there's no anti-sway bar on your new truck's rear axle. It's an easy fix. :D

Yep, that was one of the first things I noticed. Had a Hellwig on the 01. Maybe I should have taken it too! Dodge doesn't offer the camper package any longer... hmmmm.

Looking forward to the first trip. Got the RS9000s on the way.

Big Fun,

Are you going to try hauling your Lance 1161 without air bags? I'm curious how your truck handles your camper without the air bags. I installed air bags on our truck before I hauled our Lance 1121, so I don't know how our truck would have handled. The main springs on our '03 seem to be a bit "softer" than our previous '00 and the overloads seem to be "stiffer"... but that may be just my imagination.

I hauled the camper about 5-6K miles before the Rancho 9000 shocks became available. They did make a difference!

Bill,

I had the RS9000, RideRite airbags, and Hellwig sway bar on the 01. handled very well. I have the RS9000 and airbags on the way. Don't think I'll have the time to get them installed prior to when I want to go camping for the weekend.

We hauled the camper across America without airbags. It worked just fine. I'm curious to see how the bigger Dodge hauls the load. I'm going Wednesday to get the Happijack truss system installed. I'll be sure to post the progress as we go along.
