Well I think its time to get rid of my '97. I am making money again and am sick of looking at primer fenders and rust under the doors. Who has the best prices in the country? I will miss that old truck but it has been paid off for a very long time and it is starting to look real bad.

Agree with above comments. I'd get the paper's and look through the ads to get an idea of pricing. I'd use the ''get quote'' on the Ram website. I'd look at the websites of the closest 5 or 6 dealers and get ''best'' prices of what you want. I'd use the Costco or Credit Union purchasing arrangements for ''best'' prices and then I'd call Dave Smith and see if a trip to ID would be worth it for you. And I'd let the local dealers know that you're calling Dave Smith and you are a serious buyer. When I bought my 2011 I ordered it through the local dealer and there price was matching Dave Smith's price after travel costs (and I am fairly close to ID, 8 hours or so).

All of this would take 1/2 a day and be better then sitting in a dealerships steal room negotiating with an idiot.

Before we were willing to endorse car-buying expert Oren Weintraub, president of Authority Car Buying Specialists, we wanted to put him to the test.

We challenged Weintraub to buy a 2009 Ford Flex Limited for less than we could. We shopped around and got a price of $500 over invoice, which sounded pretty good for a just-released new model. Weintraub found a deal at $1,500 below invoice. This more than paid for the $695 fee he charged for his car-buying concierge services.

After seeing how much money he was able to save us, we decided that Weintraub might know a thing or two that car buyers should hear. So we sat down in a local restaurant and recorded this conversation with the 40-year-old former car dealer.

"I am not affiliated with Authority Car Buying Specialists" I plan on using his services.

Good advice!

I was able to get over $1,000 below invoice plus incentives last Labor Day at Dave Smith on my 2011. 56k tax license out the door every option on Longhorn Dually HO 4x4.
