I finally got my new truck. See sig. I dig it.
I sure miss the old one, and would still have it if I could afford both. I'm just glad it went to a fellow TDR member!
Sure is quiet. Not cool. Well, a Cummins will always be cool, but I sure miss the noise. Silencer was missing for quite some time, 4" exhaust, and just the ole motor sounded sweet. My wife even said she doesn't like how quiet it is
When I drove the new one home last night, my wife called me on my cell just as I pulled into the drive and asked when i was going to be home. I told her "I am, honey. "
She didn't believe me, but looked outside. It was dark, and the truck is black, so it took her a couple of seconds. The '01. 5 could be heard a block and a half away, no joke! I think she liked hearing me coming so she could kick anyone out of the house quick before I pulled up! LOL
Yesterday driving it home with my younger son, we commented on the fact that it's quieter @60 mph than my old one idling!! Makes it easier to carry on a conversation, that's for sure.
Well, today ordered the Hog exhaust from Summit. Lookin' forward to that. Also got gauges from Geno's. I got the Diprocal just because of the color of the backing and the lights. I hope they match like I've heard they do. I'm mounting on the pillar. I'll put them on before the exhaust, that way I'll get a baseline. The ring gets lost tomorrow!!
One thing is certain, this one sure seems to lack power. I know, I know, I'm comparing it to my beefed up baby, but still. I had the 4" exhaust, an EZ, and DD #2 injectors in the other truck. I didn't realize just how much power I had until I got this one. I'm going to miss it for a while. I'll wait and get a few clicks on the clock before I get go-fast goodies. I'm leaning toward another EZ and DD #2 injectors again. You folks that have this setup and have dynoed, what are your numbers? I am looking for the same level of power and towing ability as I had in my '01. 5 HO/6 sp.
