The problem is most people look at the forums too get info on what's going on with the truck before you buy one. So if everything is negative and no positive that gives the manufacturer a bad reputation.

A lot of the stuff is pretty picky. Ford and Chevy forums have the same stuff. I love this truck. My buddy has a duramax and the RAM is so much more substantial sitting side by side. I had a Chevy before this and it came from the factory with a bad steering column and out of alignment and the tailgate had a bigger gap on one end than the other. One end was so tight, I worried that the line x would cause a fitment problem. I find the fit and finish on the ram to be superior, along with a great EVIC and GPS you can use. It rides rougher than the Chevy but it's so much more stout. Hang 500 lbs on the hitch and it rides like a dream. Compared to the Chevy, these trucks are brutes. Chevy's regen is an issue. My buddy just spent $275 because he just runs short trips to work and back and the truck went straight to limp mode without any warning. The infamous, Allison transmission was shifting like a brick and had to have a solenoid replaced. My son's company replaced all their hotshot trucks with the RAM. There good trucks. These forum can be scary sometimes because all you hear is the problems. Visit the Ford and Chevy forums, that'll make you feel better.

Also, he get's 17 mpg highway.

I've noticed over the past two years that the complaints written here on the 4Th gen (DEF) trucks seemed to drop off after a software up date that RAM came out with this spring. Now it seems the biggest issue is with the Radio and Nav systems. My 2013 has been really good it just works day in and day out since the last software update.

If I had been aware of these truck forums before I purchased my 2006 6.0, it might had made me rethink that purchase. If one is researching a purchase, and just sees negative comment after negative comment, makes one wonder, am I making a wise purchase. Looking back, if I had known before hand the issues with Ford's 6.0, and then read some on the 5.9 Dodge, I would have looked at the Dodge more closely. I do not try to be brand loyal, but I want a vehicle that is more trouble free than issue laden. I don't mind reading the cheer leading comments, and I do like hearing what others have as issues as well. Makes me a smarter owner, if one of those issues comes up, I then have an idea of how to correct it, or a more informed owner standing at the service writers desk.

At least you learned about Ford Powerjokes and did not repeat the mistake! Last good one was the 7.3!

Totally agree. I'm learning a lot.

Nothing much has changed since the advent of the electronic controlled engine and transmission, version 3 is where a purchase is worth considering. It pretty much takes the manufacture 2 MY's to work the bugs after letting the monkeys have their way, pre-release testing just doesn't catch it all. If they run true, MY 15 will be the solid platform. The rest simply need the ECU yanked and replaced with a new one a fresh OS install sans all the patches. Nothing more disturbing than the number of flashes to fix critical operational aspects and problems still exist.

WOW, I have a 14 RAM that would be an EXCELLENT candidate for that little procedure! THIS is the procedure its fixing to get...

LOL, I take you are not a satisfied customer.
Dont get me wrong, I LOVE the truck. Pulls like a stud mule right out of the box without having to mod the engine.... love the new look, interior, etc...
absolutely HATE Ram Customer Service and their non-caring attitude about the current situation with my truck. The Texas Lemon Laws are very clear, once the truck reaches 12 months or 12K miles its too late, you own it fixed or not.
RAM has done nothing to fix it although they openly admit that there is a problem. They have admitted it to me and the repairing dealership. Only thing I have been able to consistently get from RAM is chaotic confusion and lied to. They have repeatedly lied to the dealership as well. Its not that I WANT to Lemon Law it, but they have backed me into a corner and pretty much leave me no choice in the matter as I purchased the truck in February and here we are late October. Out of the 9 months I have owned the truck, it has been at the dealership 4 1/2 along with repeated day trips over there not being counted.

I'd also challenge you to take a look at some of the other brand's forums. You might be amazed at the frequency of posts related to problems there as compared to here.

I agree.

People are always more likely to complain then praise.

With that in mind it is easy to get a skewed view on these forums.

10K miles without a hitch and VERY pleased with my purchase.

Best vehicle I have ever owned.

BTW, have owned it since 12/13.

Had a 2004 Dodge CTD 5.9 before this.

Nothing but satisfied to date.

Being a Cummins/Ram owner since 1989 and owning a commercial fishing vessel (lobster) with a Cummins in it also, has me out searching for a new/used 2013 Ram with a HO engine, with DEF, and an Aisin transmission. I have been reading the glowing praise that folks have been posting about Duallys being set up this way, but------they are harder to find, in New England, than mountain oysters at the shore (we have the other kind)! The only one I found was a HO 370 with a 68 RFE 6 speed. Any thoughts of where to expand my search?

Although there is some very good stuff to learn here, This forum is a minuscule portion of the total population of Ram owners.
