Just got the latest and greatest PowerMax from TST... Any one else have one or know how to use the adjustable timing feature?????? Can't wait to see how long the rear tires last now, but not until I can operate all of the goodies... ... .

Adjustable timing? There is an adjustable cool down timer if thats what you are talking about. The tst will advance timing a few degrees on level 1 setting

no, it is definitely adjustable timing. :D It was a design they brought forth from so many people wanting the ability to stack boxes and not worry about timing getting out of control.

Is this just on the 06 trucks? I have a tst r49 I just got a few months ago and I don't believe it has adjustable timing on it? I might be wrong... .

Yes, you can send in your current one for the reflash... they need the box and the remote to do it. It adjusts timing in increments of 3 degrees up to 12.

I think currently that when it is on the first setting 1 that the increase goes right to 12 degrees.

Wonder if they will come out with a different remote? Something like the PDA maybe?

Just thinkin out loud thats all!

Yes we have one and it is very interesting. We have used it all the way to 18deg advanced. We are still searching for the perfect tuning for our truck. We started with injectors that were a little too big, but we just installed some that are a little smaller. We should have some feed back soon. Thanks

I don't think their going to change their remotes any time soon... Mark and TST are more about function than form. . Which is just fine by me... It would be nice to be able to see the readout with sunglasses on though... .

Now, Does anybody know the operation of the adjustable timing feature of the remote. . How it works exactly and how to manipulate the remote... Its drivin me nuts tryin to figure it out...

Well. . I talked to Mark yesterday morning and have found out that I don't have the new adjustable timing feature. Which comes as a suprise, but I'll work that out later.

Anyway, according to him the boxes and remotes with that "flash or firmware" have two additional menu screens after the usual on the R49 remote. The first one allows you to set the maximum advance of timing that the box uses. Say for instance there is no injector clatter until you reach 12 degrees of timing you can limit the box so that it will only advance the timing to a maximum of 10 degrees.

The second menu allows you to disable the automatic timing of the box and set a degree of timing that it stays at. Irregardless of the boost or aceleration. So if your stacking the TST with a box that also advances the timing you can adjust the TST to work with the other boxes curve.

I wish there was a setting to control low boost fooling... Or low RPM fueling.

Maybe even a setting for low RPM, mid RPM, and High RPM timing. With the last flash I got I noticed alot more low rpm / low boost timing. Makes all kinds of funny noises. I also noticed I lost some botom end throttle responce.

I really do like the fact that TST is still moving forward with their products. It's nice to be able to try something different. I just wish it was easier to update. Sending the box off for a week and paying the shipping + insurance isn't so fun.

I think I will call and see if I can buy the cable and software to update myself. That would be cool. I know they have TONS of different flashes. I would like a crazy flash for the dyno and racing... Then maybe the normal one for towing. Being able to hook my laptop up and change them out would be great!

Thats what I heard as well from Danny @ TST...

Manually you can set it a static amount a degrees between 0-18*'s

Or the auto mode you can limit it...

Personal I think would like to see the timing boost-related, like 3 degree from every 5 lbs boost. like 18* at 30psi, etc, (up to the map sensor limit around 40psi* == 24* total timing)

Its not like the engine sees 40psi that often to make a difference anyway, or does it ?!!? hahahaha
