Sooo... I just got back yesterday from the TST dyno day - Good times...

While I was there I got a new PMCR that was over 5000 serial # so I can play around with the rail pressure feature...

The install was really easy - I pulled a few plugs from the original harness and added the new pins and ran that to the rail pressure sensor. And obviously took the EZ out.

All the functions now with the new PMCR are amazing! Auto or manual timing, rail pressure monitor, rail pressure adding setting, etc, etc

After I few days I will let you guys know how the program stacks up against the TST/EZ stack...

BTW - I can change from Single to twins to econo program instantly... NICE!

PS - You think 1 TST is nice, try two! haha

haha

Ya I dynoed and got to see what my truck would be like with 15k behind it and up a grade -- The dyno was set to allow 2mph a second... . Let me tell ya, thats SLLLOOWWWWWW

I could only muster 508hp -- One thing I can say it that is TRUE WORKING HP. I have never heard my truck grunt and grioan so much and not to mention I think the clutch slipped right at 2900 rpms on one run...

Good times, good times... .

Do you know if they have any plans to add another LCD to the remote that will display rail pressure along with boost and EGT's so we can actually watch it? I'd buy a new one if they do ;)

I am not sure... Sometimes I wonder if they can take away the EGT and put rail pressure there because I dont use the EGT anymore really - I mean not like I used to before the big charger... .

One of the guys at TST did say they know that they have streched the current remote as far as they can and they know someday they will surpass the ability of it and have to make a new one

BTW - the drive to work this morning was just the same as usual - No wierd side effects from using the old harness :) - I have not yet added pressure though via the TST

been running mine for a couple weeks now, havent had the guts to mess with the rail pressure yet.

was pulling a trailer a couple days ago ,pwr #2, te#2 & the check engine light came on. wouldnt show any codes so i turned everything back to 0, drove for a while and the engine light went off

Tomey,

I just installed the new TST and everything is in one remote. If you upgrade does it reguire a second remote?

No, I just left the old one there in case I do not keep the new fancy one...

It is not powered right now, just sitting there

That sux about your dyno time. Why in the world would they do that?? Do they like to ruin people's day's????

I can understand it if you actually dynoed your correct HP but 508 come on!!!

The one big down side I see to that much load is you can break parts way easier than if it was more like 4-5 mph per second...

On the other hand I got to see how my truck responded to a huge load (and what EGT effect it had)...

Not terrible IMO for a large charger

I have been really putting the TST through the paces...

One thing I will note is the Rail Pressure gauge screen is worth it weight in gold - TST style or the other RP gauges...

I would consider it a must have at this point. You can really see what load does to the RP, ETC

Hey Tom, if I remember right, you put the lift pump/big line kit on from GDP a while back. Does this kit provide all the fuel you need with your mods, or does rail pressure drop pretty low during a hard run?

With enough duration from my TST I can still pull down Rail pressure and make a ton of smoke (and low HP) - But remember that is the rail pressure - I think the GDP walbro is doing just fine keeping up with the fuel ... The Cp3 on the other hand is lacking a little.

what are you showing for your lift pump pressure when you lose rail pressure?

So if I understand you correctly you have your choice between monitoring rail pressure or egt's but not both at the same time? If that's the case I'm in, I've got egt's on a diffrent gauge. :)

whats the chance of talking to TST and have them make an LCD screen that jumpers into the harness between the normal remote?

make that display the rail pressure, then i can fasten it up beside my R49 remote.

Kinda... Monitor "Hp#, Boost, abd EGT *OR* Just Rail Pressure...

This is limited by the remote desgin/ability - thoguht are being tossed around of a new remote that would be must more configureable

I did mention to the TST guys that I would like to buy a little "add-on" display for my RP and use the harness they make... Not a bad in-term solution that still uses the old remote...

I love the look of analog gauges. BUT, a nice A-pillar mounted, easy to read at a glance display would be cool

I personally enjoy the attitude's bar graph display with EGT and Boost. I wouldn't mind having a setup like that for all necessary gauges.

Drawbacks of digitally monitored boost? The sensor doesn't read past 40psi. This would have to be replaced with an electronic sensor that's plugged into the TST box that can read 100psi (partner with auto meter and buy just the sending units to package with the tst box?)

Other things would be nice to see at a glance EGT, Rail, Lift Pump ( use auto meter sending unit. ) transmission temp (same auto meter idea). T

The thing here is that I do like the look of the edge attitude display, but the A2 display is to big looking (from pictures I"m seen). Something that's color, a little bigger and the ability to have 2 seperate displays displaying 2 large bar graphs (or 4 corners of data). . Mount one on the a-pillar, one over console. or 2 on apillar.

And a remote to adjust power levels quickly.

Personally, the Edge unit looks like it belongs in the apillar. The tst box looks tacky and out of place. The other reason why I picked edge over tst when I first started modded, knowing well that the tst is better over all.

If the tst box is to also replace guages, it needs to read them and display them in a useful manor.

I saw a TST mounted in a attitude pillar at the Texas Nationals yesterday looked like it fit well an looked much nicer than being velcro to the dash. I have been thinkng about trying the TST with rp on my new 06 but got to get my transmission done first. I have a SP box with rp on my 04 an that feature is now a must in my opinion.
