super phat shaft 62

my wife got me a super phat shaft 62/80 for my birthday. it took a long time to install because i didn't heed warnings to install return oil line before mounting turbo.

this turbo is awsome! spools as fast if not faster then stock! egt's are down but i cant really report yet. don't have a chip that fools boost!! i traded my ez for my friends ramifier. i sent it in to get reprogramed. should get it back today. with just the edm 80hp injectors i can hit 45lbs of boost then it settles down to 40psi. check engine light has been on since sunday. going to have codes cleared today and will get the ramifier on there. i'll report tonight. i have to pull my J20 back from the shop. we'll see how the egt's do then!... . james :D
 
I just installed my II SPS 66, its a rocket now, and sounds awesome through the exhaust. Spools instantly.



I put on 50-60 miles, then romped on it a few times. II didn't say to wait 100 miles, so I hope I didn't lean on it too soon.



I too didn't install the oil pipe on the turbo prior to installing, but it was very easy to get the bolts started in my attempt. I guess I just lucked out.



Have to mod the down pipe mounting rod a bit since the turbo is longer, but other than that, its a bolt in.



I'm glad I got the 66 instead of the 62, works great for me.
 
I just put an htb2 62/12 on my o4. 5 lost about 200 degrees @ wot spools reallly good, but installing a new turbo on third gens suck without removing the manifold, Check with rip @ source automotive tell him bill sent ya
 
update on SPS 62

ok, here's the scoop:

got the ramifier on last nite. pulled my 12000gwrw trailer with my 1ton jeep J20 on it back from the shop. EGT's are down about 2-300*. spools super fast! Empty: driving on the highway today at 70mph EGT's were 650* with 6-8lbs of boost. MAN, at 60 mph and i step on it the truck feels like the afterburners kick in!! :eek: this was a great addition to my truck! i can't wait to pull my 30 foot cigerrett boat to florida this year! no more stairing at the exhaust temp guage anymore!! i would say on a 1-10 this turbo is a 11..... james :D
 
On 03/04 their is a De-fueling Problem in OD. With the OD off the Turbo will produce 40 psi plus and hang in until Max RPM or Speed, than hit the OD to on, it will drop to middle 20S than WOT in OD on will produce 32psi and than drop to 28/26. This is DC programing, I know this Because I have the Cummins 330 loaded in My ECM. 03 has ECM/PCM combo. I believe this is the PCM controlling fueling. I have the ATS commander controlling lockup. I hope the new PDA or SP Diesel new program can help out here on controlling OD De-fueling. 04. 5 and up can use Boost foolers because their stock program will allow 40psi. I don"t Think the Juice can over Ride this Program or any one else at this time. This is were the Manuals have a huge advantage over the Auto, No Programing.
