Had my gauges installed at Colorado Diesel in Castle Rock last December. They informed me I had a seal in my turbo leaking and the truck only had 16K on it. Took it in and the dealer replaced the seal on the return oil line. Took it in again last week for some warranty work and told them I thought there was a lot of oil on the back of the turbo. Guess what? They put a new turbo on it. I asked why and they told me it was in once before for the same problem so the second time it is automatically a new unit. :D They didn't even balk at the gauges. Only down side is they took my EGT probe out so now I have to put it back in. My probe is post-turbo and the elbow and everything is new.

Pretty happy with the dealer this time. Maybe we should all take back all the bad things we said in the past.  :D

Well, maybe it's just a golden opportunity to put your EGT thermocouple pre-turbo where you'll be better informed of what your engine's doing - particularly important if you BOMB more than you have already ;)

I went to Christophers in Golden. That would have been nice, but I had no idea they were going to put a new one in. They never called or anything. When I went to pick it up the advisor told me I had a brand new turbocharger. I didn't even now the probe was out until I was on 470 and realized I didn't have a reading on EGT's. I called Colorado Diesel and they are going to put it back in for me after labor day.

Don't know if I'll put it pre this time or not. I'm not going to get to crazy until I can afford a new transmission, but I understand the reasoning behind pre-turbo temps. ;)
