New type of transmission

I thought I would put this up and see what some of you guys think of this. I just hope the big three or a oil company doesn't buy up the patent and that's the last that you will hear of this.

If the trans had no lock-up feature then i think this might work. Not practical and more things to go wrong. I think that Diesel Elect. Hybrid it the answer in my opinion, 100+ MPG. But they will be throw away cars after 10 years IMO.
