Hot shot drivers?

It's now come to the time to retire my 82 Fleetwood Resort and I've found a used 2002 Sprindale (by Keystone) at my local RV Dealer. I've not seen nor heard a whole lot about this brand of campers and was curious if any one knew much about them. The camper seems to be in very good shape and well taken care of. It's a 29'er with a 15' livingroom slide (dinnet & couch), has bunk beds in the back with their own entertainment center, queen bed up front, big kitchen, lots of storage everywhere. I haven't really gave the camper the once over yet just looked at it once, but it seems really nice and it's the floor plan I'm looking for. The guy said he's asking $12,000 for it but the only thing I don't like is it's aluminum sided and I was looking for smooth fiberglass.

Any input would be appritiated.

Sorry guys but I think Airstreams are about the ugliest thing I've ever seen. Plus I don't have that kind of $$$$$$$$$ laying around. ;)

Looking to spend no more than $13,000 on a 2001-2003 travel trailer.

My first travel trailer was a Springdale 29' bunkhouse- no slide. Bought it (years ago) as a "cheap" test, to see if a camper was something we would really use. I believe we paid 10. 5K for a brand new unit. Slides should add a couple grand to that rough price. So, I don't think 12,000 is a super great price for a 2-3 year used unit (check the build date on the tag - it could have been made in 2001, and still considered an '02). What I'm saying is, you should at-least have a dealer work numbers for a new one. If you shop a couple of places, you may be able to get a new one, for roughly the same price. Then you know everything about it, and the warranties will all be intact.

As far as the trailer, I was happy with mine. Yes, it was cheaply made (wood frame, low-end cabinets/trim, some quality short-cuts), but it had the same components/appliances as most of the other brands. Gave me absolutely no problems, and because I bought so cheap, I was able to get out of it really easy. I used it for two seasons, and sold it for $8,500 (2 grand, for 2 years, semed like a decent depreciation rate, to me).

You probably won't be disappointed, especially if you trust there haven't been any major problems/leaks. But, I'd recommend looking at new (for comparison), and/or hitting him with a much lower price.
