I just bought a 98 dodge diesel last week. Saturday I was crawling around underneather while changing the oil. Just checking things out. I found a Holley fuel pump mounted about two feet from the fuel tank. There's also something that looks like a regulator mounted to the frame up towards the engine.

I assume the previous owner must have gotten fed up with the factory lift pump and came up with his own solution.

Does this setup sound okay? I guess I need to do a fuel pressure check to see what's going on.

I think you are exactly right, get a fp gauge so you can monitor the vitals, you dont want more than 15-16 psi at the VP-44 , alot of folks here do but I understand that more psi than that is hard on the front seal of the VP.

cheers, Kevin
