Just bought a 93 D250 cc set up for fifh wheel . Previous owner used Delo 400 oil and I want to use Rottela oil. What problems would I run into by changing brands of oil? The truck has 91KDale B. French

Welcome, Dale.

I don't think you'll have any problem switching especially if you drain thoroughly and change filter. I changed mine to Delo 400 after previous owner had been using something else. It always looks nearly as good as the day I put in at the 3K drain interval. I like Delo but have never heard anything bad about Rotella. I would go out of my way to get Fleetguard filters though. A lot of info to support this in previous posts. Try Geno's garage. Often on the banners on this site or in the links. Enjoy the new rig and the good folks here.

I use the Delo 400, and have been for years. I used another brand when I first bought the truck and switched to the Delo 400, no problem. :)

Thanks NOMOFO,Jgordon & chuck3 for the goods words about your experience with Delo 400. I probably will just stay with Delo as its not good to change brands of oil with mileage, at least that is what Detroit Diesel tells me with my KittyWomper. I own a 93 KW T600 with 592000 mileson it . I got it in 1997with 389800 miles.
