Start looking at every electrical component you buy are want and see where it's made. Big C. I heard a radio announcer say the other day

that every piece of equipment in the station was made in China.

"We" dont have jobs because we are too lazy to work, or too picky about what we do. I have yet to search for work for more than a week in the last 5 years, and have people I have worked for in the past call periodically to see if I want to come back to them or pick up some extra cash on the side. I work in a small plant that builds BBQ smokers, and we have what I believe to be a VERY relaxed pace, and we STILL cant find people willing to show up AND work. (Guess that explains the relaxed pace- the lazy give me no other options). I'm constantly telling people to find something to do, or finding something for them to do, slowing my own productivity, and then they half do it cause they think they deserve 40min breaks every other hour. Few care about doing a good job, or even trying to give their best. It's all about the paycheck. I dont blame companies for taking operations overseas for the same quality of work at 1/2 to 1/8 the US price.



Didnt mean to hijack the thread, it just really grates on my nerves when people talk about a lack of work in this country.

But actually I am in the process or applying for a new job myself, I turned in the resume almost a month ago and was interviewing within a few days in person. Well background check went thru, and I had a third phone interview and finally got an offer letter... but then I took my drug test on monday (I am drug free and always have been) and the results came back that the solution was too dilute so I had to retest today and HR told me that if this one is too Dilute "I'm Out" there goes my 65K a year salary job that I went to 7 years of college to get #@$%!

I gave them the most concentrated yellow sample this morning so they'll probably be able to find ANYTHING they want in it if they look hard enough. I'll let you guys know what happens. But wow, I've already quit my current work, If this falls through I'm absolutely screwed. Guilty till proven innocent is the way of these tests.

Wow, this has taken a turn. I am not a lawyer, but have to take randoms for employment with the union contractors, and a pre hire test as well. In field construction that can be a lot of employers in a year. So my advise to you ( I am not a lawyer) would be to pay for your own independent test. Do it the same day if you can. (I understand you have already done two UA's for them) We have stuff like your situation at various times. One happend to a buddy two weeks ago from perscribed medicine... . but they didn't wait around to ask him about it. He had worked 9 days into a 4 week job before the superintendent met him at the gate with two checks. He needed to go right then and do an independent test... . but he didn't think about it 'cause like you, he is clean. So he came back from the Denver job a little miffed. What I am trying to say is you need to be pro active. You might be able to force the issue if you had a secondary test given on the same day... preferibly no later than 4 hours. You can do this at an ememgency room or look in the yellow pages for test sites.

I got the Job

Sounds great. I should have done an independent test, that is good advice. Instead I sat around all day and night and couldn't sleep well knowing that my fate lay in the the hands of some lab rat. Well I got a call this morning and its all clean! SO I GOT THE JOB!! Not to fret 1st gen crowd, just because I will be able to afford a brand new 6. 7 maga cab long bed dually 4x4 with 22. 5s on it and leather trim DOESN'T mean I will be wasting my money on that. Ol Blue is going to get a new set of tires, a new IP, new paint along the way, and a full service checkup done by yours truly. What can I say. I'm a lifer. 1st gen all the way.
