Well the saga continues. :{ :{ They charged me 15 hours for this ( some mistakes).
A question please; the book (9-170) says that The 24-valve overhead system incorporates rocker arms that are designed to allow fuel injector service without removing the rocker arms and pedestals. He removed them to replace the injectors and caused the problem only to fix it as well. Nice, make a problem and then be the hero and fix it. Wonder how many hours were on the bill to fix this problem. The other place didn't remove them and swap them around !!!!!!
This was supposed to be in bold.
He did remove them and had problems with starting. The W/O says:Found that there was a bad backfire coming out of the intake. There is a misadjusted valve or there is a burned valve, removed valve cover and checked valve adjustment found that cylinder #1 exhaust was over tight and holding the valve open. Also found that cylinders #4 and #5 intake valves are also over tight and not releasing. Readjusted all valves and retested. OK. No more back fire from intake, finished reassembling unit. road tested and seems to be ok at this time.
I think that he swapped 3 of them and had to change them because of this.
The engine is still tinny sounding, ( due to insufficient fueling ) but now has a full time flutter to it. The gearshift shakes alot and I can still hear the engine surging at idle. It runs out of fueling at about 1900 rpm. The APPS isn't doing its fuel advancement for the engine. Going down hill (8% or so) it surges very noticeably. My boost is still very slow in coming on and only to 14 lbs when it gets there. ( These engines might be good if they actually work!!!!!!)
Another question : Should he have got the APPS working or should he have known if the APPS isn't working???????
Does anyone have a very technical ideas please.
